Cleanings & Preventative Care

Exams & Cleanings

A dental cleaning should be performed by a dentist or dental hygienist every six months in order to prevent excessive plaque buildup. A dental cleaning includes diagnostic x-rays, an oral cancer screening, gum disease evaluation, examination of tooth decay and existing restorations, as well as the actual cleaning. All of these steps allow us to get a good look at the overall health of your mouth in order to catch problems before they become a larger issue.

Fluoride Treatment

A fluoride treatment helps strengthen and protect your teeth against cavities. We recommend that children receive a professional application of fluoride twice a year.

Dental Sealants

Sealants help prevent cavities and tooth decay by closing narrow grooves in teeth that build up plaque. We apply a plastic material onto the tooth to fill the grooves and prevent build up. Children, teenagers, and adults can all benefit from dental sealants.

Periodontal Disease Treatment

Periodontal disease is a gum disease that can lead to several other health issues if it is not treated properly. Periodontal treatment involves deep cleaning in order to contain an infection. We may also suggest specific toothpastes or mouth washes, or in some cases prescribe antibiotics.

Cosmetics & Restorative

Composite Dental Fillings

A filling restores a decayed tooth back to its original shape and function. During a filling, the dentist removes the decayed tooth material, cleans the affected area, and applies a filling material to the cleaned-out cavity.

Fixed Dental Bridges

If you have a missing tooth, a bridge is a great way to fill the space. A bridge is an artificial tooth, or teeth, that are cemented into place using the real teeth on either side for support. A bridge replaces the missing tooth functionally and cosmetically.

Crowns

Crowns can replace missing teeth, or restore teeth that are damaged. A crown covers an entire damaged tooth. This strengthens the tooth while also enhancing the overall appearance.

Veneers

Veneers can help make your smile more aesthetically pleasing, and also help with tooth damage. During the procedure, a thin layer of porcelain or composite material is placed over the outside of the tooth. Unlike crowns, veneers require much less of the tooth material to be removed, making the procedure more comfortable than a crown procedure.

Partial Dentures

A denture replaces missing teeth. They resemble your natural teeth and in many cases improve their appearance. If one or more natural teeth are still in the mouth, a partial denture is used to replace any missing teeth. Dentures are removable and help restore your mouth’s overall function.

Root Canal Therapy

Root Canal Therapy helps save a damaged tooth in order to avoid having it removed. This treatment is necessary when a cavity reaches all the way to the pulp at the center of the tooth, causing it to become infected.

Extractions

There are some situations when a dentist must extract a tooth. If a tooth is suffering from issues including severe decay, advanced gum disease, infection, or a fracture, a dentist may determine the tooth needs to be extracted. Typically, a dentist will only extract a tooth as a last resort.

Teeth Whitening

Just like the procedure implies, teeth whitening makes your smile whiter and brighter. If you are looking for immediate results, an in-office whitening treatment is an excellent option. We also offer more affordable, custom whitening trays that you can complete from the comfort of home.

Implants

Dental Implants

Dental implants are a tooth restoration procedure for those missing one or more teeth. This is a surgical procedure that places a metal post into the jaw, acting as a permanent root for the tooth that is being implanted.

Single Tooth/Multiple Teeth Replacement

If you are missing a single tooth, a tooth implant is a great option to replace it. A single tooth replacement requires no additional support from the surrounding teeth.

If multiple teeth are missing, a dental implant can either be placed individually or with a bridge. Crowns are also used at the edge of each bridge and attached to the implants.

Implant Supported Dentures

Implant supported dentures are attached to implants in the jaw. It is used when a patient does not have teeth, but enough bone in their jaw to support implants. They are removable.

Crowns

Crowns can replace missing teeth, or restore teeth that are damaged. A crown covers an entire damaged tooth. This strengths the tooth while also enhancing the overall appearance.

Full Arch Replacement

Cosmetic Rejuvenation

Botox

BOTOX is an FDA-approved prescription medicine that is injected into various points in facial muscles to smooth wrinkles and improve appearance. BOTOX works by blocking signals from nerves to the muscles so that the muscles can no longer contract. This relaxes and softens wrinkles. Imagine getting rid of frown lines or crow’s feet during your dental visit! BOTOX results are not permanent. They typically last four to six months. The treatment requires periodic visits in order to maintain the smooth appearance.

Juvéderm

Juvéderm is a cosmetic procedure that is a dermal filler. A Juvéderm injection fills facial wrinkles and folds by adding volume to the skin. It can also be used as a lip filler. The results can last anywhere from three months to 12 months.

Periodontal Therapy

Gum Recession Treatment

Our office treats gum recession, which is often caused by gum disease, through localized antibiotic therapy, or scaling and root planing. In some cases, periodontal surgery is necessary.

Bone Graft Replacement

Bone grafting is a cutting-edge procedure that allows us to grow and graft bone in order to provide a strong foundation in your mouth that is needed for restorations. We will acquire bone from the jaw, hip, or knee – or from a tissue bank depending on the case.

Pocket Reduction

Pocket reduction is a surgery that removes bacteria and tartar from the roots of teeth that can cause periodontal disease. The surgery helps reduce bacterial spread and prevent bone loss.

Sedation Dentistry

Oral Sedation

Oral sedation is taken in a pill or liquid form before treatment. It creates a calming effect in order to make your visit as comfortable as possible.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide sedation, also known as “laughing gas,” is commonly used to make treatment more comfortable. The nitrous oxide is inhaled through a mask and produces a state of relaxation. Local anesthetic will be administered in conjunction with nitrous oxide to eliminate pain. Nitrous oxide is designed to make procedures easier for nervous patients and has been effective for many years.
